This episode explores the history of immigration policy and cultural attitudes toward immigrants. We invited Gwen and Ximena to explain their migration journeys to the United States and their experiences once they arrived in this country. They also explain how their other identities compounded to form their unique experiences. Coupled with these firsthand accounts, we also discuss the history of US immigration policy to illustrate how immigration policy has been and continues to be a nation-sanctioned weapon of exclusion and exploitation.
